I didn't actually buy them in the end as the seller wouldn't drop the price enough to make it viable for me. In the UK we have an H2 wizard restorer (Reference Fidelity Components - Paul Coupe) who thought a new crossover and new tweeter were needed. Whilst the sound was more dynamic and detailed than my Es (in fact making them sound quite lush, verging on mushy in comparison), the upper part of the range was almost painful to listen to - very harsh and screechy. The first speakers I ever auditioned back in the '90s, fed by an OTO SE and after which I'd always lusted. However, I recently auditioned at home some old Impulse H2 horns (1993). Despite that the sound over the years has been very enjoyable. Any ideas on that? PQ says it may need a factory adjustment, but the whirring sound is new since I last corresponded with him. The Jinro has in fact developed some hum and, if left on for a while it also makes a higher pitched whirring noise (low level) as well. ![]() I had one of the original Jinros in 2011 (reg 039), complete with DAC11.1 x balanced and Zero CDT (about to be upgraded), going through Lexus bi wire to AN E Spe he's. Attracted here because there seems to be much knowledge about AN gear.
